We’re starting this Wednesday Feb 2, at 7pm! We have a workout plan all set – thanks to Dan!  Fee for the winter session is $120 and will run Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 8pm. Saturday 8 am – 9 am.  Hope to see you there!

Rowing Clinic / Learn to Row Day – TOMORROW!

Wanted to give you a quick THANK YOU for helping out tomorrow! We’ve got almost 20 people already signed up that want to try out rowing so let’s give them a FANTASTIC day of it!!

Here’s our schedule:

  • 8:30-8:45 AM – Please arrive to help setup/tidy up.
  • 9:00 AM – Boats and launches setup by the docks.  Official tours begin with erg lesson.
    • Other tours start at 10am and 11am.
  • 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM – Boats launch for 60 minute sessions on the water.  Back on the docks by quarter after to assist anyone getting out of boats, answer questions, etc.

If you have any family/friends that signed up to learn to row – let me know and I can make sure you are boated together!

Free Rowing Clinic / Learn to Row Day – June 19th

Please help spread the word! Have your family and friends who have sparked an interest in rowing come to the boathouse for a 90 minute introduction to our world. This includes a tour/history of our program, quick erg lesson, review of the boat and then an hour on the water with our Coaches.

There are sessions at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 AM and an opportunity to secure a seat ahead of time: http://bhrow.com/learn-to-row

Volunteers! In order to make this the best experience for our new rowers, we need your help!

  • Parents/Masters
    • Seeking 2-3 to assist with registration and collecting waivers – email me if interested and your time availability, we can always do shifts. Registration will be 8:45-11:00.
  • Athletes
    • Mods/HS/Masters/Alum – in the boathouse, assisting with the erg lessons, giving one on one attention to our participants – up to 15 each hour, 9, 10, 11. Lots of down time in between, ability to hop on the water also.
    • HS/Masters/Alum – on the water, confident coxswains and helpful rowers – to help the participants in and out of the boats, give them tips and tricks on the water
      • Aiming for 3 boats on the water at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 – 3 coxswains and around 12 rowers each hour. No breaks in between sessions for the water portion but hopefully we’ll have enough people to swap in and out.

Here is how the day will play out:

  • 8:30-45ish AM – Setup and greet first session visitors
  • 9:00 AM – First Session Begins with a tour and quick erg lesson (coxswains and rower volunteers begin to setup boats coaching launches)
    • 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM – First group is brought down to the docks for an hour on the water.
  • 10:00 AM – Second Session Begins
    • 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM – Hour on the water
  • 11:00 AM – Third Session Begins
    • 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM – Hour on the water
  • 12:30 PM – Coxswains and rowers bring boats up and put away launch gear.

Hello BHRA Families!

Save the Date: Fall Family Photo Fundraiser 11/1/2020 – Local photographer will be set up at boathouse to take photos, open to anyone not just BHRA families. Amazing photos for holiday needs, etc. all proceeds benefit BHRA!

We are calling on the amazing volunteers that you are to help with making sure the BHRA boathouse is ready for winter, which allows us to row in the spring!

Work Day – Saturday November 7, 2020 9 am – finished
No experience or knowledge needed just all hands on deck!
Tree trimming, raking, simple clean up outside. Many tasks to be done please consider coming and helping out even if you can only come part of the day. Rowers welcome to help out as well

This is a COVID 19 “friendly” photoshoot. Photographer and an assistant will remain at least 6 feet from families. Masks will be worn by BHRA volunteers and photographer.. Families must adhere to time chosen to avoid overlap with the next people on schedule. There will NOT be access to indoor facilities for changing or bathroom use at the location.

Come and show your team spirit by joining us at Chipotle, Clifton Park. Print and pass out flyers or share on social media. Let’s see how many friends and family we can get together. Customers must show the flyer, picture on smartphone or simply state they are there for the event. 33% of the proceeds will go back to the club. (We must bring in at least $300 in sales to receive the benefits)

Docks Out – Sunday, November 3rd

Varsity Athletes and all Parents – we are coordinating Docks Out on for this Sunday and we need your help!  We’d like to organize duties for the day ahead of time, so please review the list of specific volunteer tasks and contact Donica or update spreadsheet linked at the bottom about which spot you can fill.  Thank you!

Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 – Docks Out – Arrive 7:30-45 AM to start pulling docks at 8:00 AM

Fork lift crew (with Kurt Weeks as Operator):

  • Need 4 adults for detaching crane lines and attaching lift slings.
  • Need 2 adults for stacking and blocking docks.
  • Need 1 adult as runner.

Crane crew (with Dan the Crane Guy as Operator):

  • Need 4 adults for lift line attachment at water level in ramp area (bring boots just in case).
  • Need 2 varsity athletes to hold lead lines and cue up sections for the adults…
